East Malvern house 2

The client has large collections of contemporary Australian ceramics and paintings which were to be the focus of the rooms. So the design centred on solving storage problems and giving space to the collections which were dynamic and still growing. Custom-built shelving and lighting was of great importance here. And the challenge was also to allow the house to function as a house and not become a gallery.

Bathrooms more than anything have to be practical and easy to clean. They need lots of storage so that everything is to hand. It is a bonus when they turn out as beautiful as this one with its sharp, contemporary lines.
